our story
Our story began at Brooks Middle School. Long before Brooklyn. Long before New York. Long before either of us had any idea where life might take us.
We grew up, moved away, built separate lives and followed different dreams. Yet through all the distance, detours and perfectly imperfect timing, we never completely lost touch.
There were road trips, visits, near misses and more than a few moments that left us wondering what might have been.
Then, after years of almosts, we stopped wondering.
We chose each other.
Now, from Brooks to Brooklyn, we’re beginning our next chapter together. We feel incredibly lucky to celebrate it with the people who have been part of our story along the way.

What is the dress code?
Formal...but make it FUN!
Think elevated, bold, celebratory, and unapologetically you. We want you to dress up, have fun with it, and wear something that feels like you.
Details: We're leaning into the warmth of fall. Rich colors, jewel tones, warm autumnal shades, and beautiful textures like velvet, satin, silk, or lace. Start with whatever version of formalwear makes you feel your best, then have a little fun with the details. A great pair of shoes, statement jewelry, a patterned tie, a favorite handbag, or a vintage piece can take a classic look somewhere unexpected.
And if you're feeling a little bolder, embrace the drama. Fringe, ruffles, a giant bow, a boa, or a fabulous hat - maybe even a top hat! Sometimes one unexpected detail is all it takes.
As a nod to one of our favorite pastimes, thrifting together, we'd also love for you to consider incorporating something vintage or thrifted into your outfit. It can be the star of the show or just a little treasure tucked into your look. This is an invitation, not a requirement.
Our only real rule? Have fun, and feel great! We can’t wait to see how you choose to shine!
What is the color palette?
We're leaning into beautiful, muted fall tones — think wine, burgundy, terracotta, dusty rose, and other warm, earthy shades. You definitely don't need to match the palette, but if you're wondering what will feel at home with the wedding, think rich, romantic, and a little autumnal.
Can I bring my kids?
We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone a chance to enjoy a fun night out, relax, and celebrate with us!
Where should I stay?
Don't choose a hotel based solely on how close it is to the wedding! Greywind is in Hudson Yards, but New York is a city of neighborhoods, and some of our favorite parts of the city are just a quick subway ride or Uber away. We've gathered a few hotels that will keep you close to the celebration and in the middle of the action, but you're welcome to stay wherever suits your plans, preferences, or points balance.
And if staying a little farther away means saving a significant amount, go for it! We'd much rather see you put that extra $150 a night toward an amazing dinner, drinks, or another NYC adventure than a hotel room you'll barely see.
Can we see the wedding couple before the wedding?
Of course! If you're coming into the city a few days early, we'd love to see you before the big day. We're planning a casual welcome gathering on Friday or Saturday for anyone who is already in town. Giving us all a chance to say hello, relax, and spend some time together before the wedding day. We'll share more details as we get closer!
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive by 4:30 PM so everyone has time to get settled. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM, so give yourself a little New York buffer.
Where can I find the latest wedding updates?
Right here! We’ll keep the website updated with weekend plans, travel recommendations, accommodations, attire inspiration and anything else you’ll need to know.
What happens after the ceremony?
We celebrate! Dinner, drinks and dancing will follow the ceremony, with an after-party beginning at 10 PM for anyone who wants to keep it going.

We’ll have a few chances to spend time together while you’re in town. Join us for everything, something or nothing at all. The only thing we really need you at is the wedding.

GO SEE SHAWN AT WORK
Shawn will be working, so if you’re up for a Broadway night, go see The Lion King. Brian will presumably be somewhere trying not to bother her.

BURGERS IN BROOKLYN
We’d love for you to join us at Brooklyn Bridge Park for burgers, views and some time together before the big day. We’re planning to take the ferry from Pier 11 / Wall St. and will share the official meet-up time before the wedding weekend.

YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN
Close family will be gathering for the rehearsal dinner Sunday evening. Everyone else: New York is yours. Eat something great, see something weird, take a long walk, have a martini. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Get to The Set by 4:30 PM, find your seat, and get settled—we’re making it official at 5 PM sharp.

ONE MORE GOODBYE
If saying goodbye is your thing, join us for coffee and breakfast Tuesday morning. We’ll share the location here soon and spread the word at the wedding. Stop by, grab a bite and officially send us off!
STAY AWHILE
Make a weekend of it. We’ve gathered a few nearby hotels to keep you close to the celebration and in the middle of the city. Transportation will be on your own, so we’ve kept our recommendations close to the ceremony. But don’t feel limited to the neighborhood—stay wherever best suits your plans, preferences or points balance.
